TO DOWNLOAD THE ‘BRIDPORT BOOK FEST‘ APP TO YOUR SMARTPHONE:
(VERY) EASY METHOD
- on your smartphone, search ‘Izi Travel‘ in the App Store (iPhone) or in Google Play (Android phones)
- download the app (this is just ‘the player’)
- in the ‘NO REGION SELECTED’ box type ‘United Kingdom” and swipe the map as usual to get down to the blue dot over Bridport
- Tap on this blue dot – this brings up ‘Bridport Book Fest and a red arrow
- Open ‘Bridport Book Fest’
- Download ‘Bridport Book Fest’ to your phone (yes, download this specifically – otherwise you have the player, that’s fine … but you won’t have ‘Bridport Book Fest’ content ON your phone! It’d be like having the book cover … but no words!)
- Go to the beginning of the trail IN THE SQUARE OUTSIDE BRIDPORT ARTS CENTRE , press START, put your earbuds in/headphones on (or just hold the phone up to your ear) and follow the trail. The red pulsating dot it YOU, the BLUE LINE is the trail! Your phone automatically plays the relevant audio when it detects a soundpool
- ALWAYS WATCH WHERE YOU’RE GOING! MIND THE TRAFFIC, OTHER PEOPLE, DOGS, TAKE CARE WHERE THERE’S WATER (some of the trail is along the River Brit and Asker) ETC ETC! TAKE SPECIAL CARE WHEN CROSSING ROADS!
Close-up of two ‘soundpools’ – one at the start of the trail, the other at the end:
